I grabbed a free certificate off of Zerossl and went down the path of installing it. Should have been simple enough 10 years post lets encrypt being trusted by the browsers.

I have done 10k+ certificate installs, automated installs, Venafi installs , ansible and the route to get an external certificate into GoDaddy was an epic leap into cPanel and some of the worst interfaces imaginable.

I had a cert and key in PEM and raw text files in about 5 minutes starting with no account, getting it on go daddy was a struggle until I spotted the cert serial number in a link, getting a valid TLS connection should not be this hard in 2025.

It is so much easier when your admin on the enterprise F5.
